about us
We’re the Bradac family—Nick, Steph, and our four boys. Our journey took us from Chicago to Atlanta, then Joplin, before returning to Illinois and settling in the small town of Genoa.
Inspired by a vision for a family-friendly coffee shop in our town, we dreamed of opening a brick-and-mortar location. Many prayers and napkin sketches filled our days, but before the full dream could come to life, we took an important first step: launching our mobile coffee truck, “Doorthy.”
In 2018, we bought a 1983 Chevy Grumman step van from a local vegetable farmer and turned it into a coffee shop on wheels, allowing us to connect with the community at local festivals, farmers' markets, and gatherings.
After much searching for the perfect traditional storefront, we discovered a historic home quietly waiting for us on the edge of downtown. With its sagging porch and charming details, we recognized its potential as a true gathering space for the community. After months of lovingly restoring the building, we proudly opened our doors in June 2022.
Now, you can enjoy our cozy space year-round, surrounded by the warmth of history. Doorthy continues to bring coffee to weddings, festivals, and private events, ensuring that our love for community and coffee reaches even more people.
